Dear All,

Over the past few months, we have been working on “The Corby Ukulele Project”. The project has reached many different sectors of the community in Corby.
Participants have had the opportunity to make their own Ukulele.

The Ukuleles are made using an Utterly Butterly spread tub, a piece of wood, with fishing line for strings, and they really work!

To date we’ve made 750 and we’re aiming for 1000+!

Everybody who had made a ukulele has also learnt how to play a few simple tunes.

On 31st October, as the finale to the CBC Family Learning Arts Festival, there will be a massed Ukulele jam session happening in the town centre at 2:00pm.

There are only 3, FREE, drop-in Ukulele making/learning sessions left!

The sessions will be on:
Monday 26th October 11:00am – 3:00pm at 66 Corporation Street (town centre, opposite McDonalds)
Tuesday 27th October 11:00am – 3:00pm at Corby library
Friday 30th October 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Corby Library

Saturday 31st October 2:00pm - The Corby Ukulele Project massed jam session

It takes about 20 minutes to make, 5 minutes to learn how to play it!

I would like to invite you, your families and friends to one of the sessions, to make your own Ukulele, and make Corby history, by becoming part of the largest Ukulele ensemble the borough has ever seen!

The project has been funded by CBC, Utterly Butterly, KCAP, The Learning revolution, Land Securities, Campaign for learning, Peavey electronics, Eggbox graphics and Arts Council.

Come and join in the fun! I look forward to seeing you at one of the sessions with your finished Ukulele!! No previous experience necessary!

“Spread the word for The Utterly Butterly Ukulele”
