Just ordered my version of 7 today after a couple of years using 6. I've been using acid since the sonic foundry days and I just can't beat it for workflow, its so quick to get ideas down. I did at one point start mixing down in cubase, but tbh coud…

Using a Condenser mic is good. There is always a way to find a good sound that you mite be looking for if persistence!!

I think the last resuft is the most important, don't care what you used, if the last sound recorded good, you did it well. I always use condenser mike for Bass Amp ( with -20Db cut). My SM 57 sound really good with guitar, but never work with Bass.…

One thing I learned in a sound engineering course I was doing is use any mic on anything just to see how it sounds. The worst that can happen is u decide you dont like the sound and use something else. There aint no rules when it comes to mics. Guid…

The Day We Decided Not To Surrender - Mastering Attempt

Haha, come laugh at my pitiful mastering attempt in SF8. Thanks to Astral for all the help hes given me and helping me understanding sonograms a bit. Ive managed to get this sounding decent (to my amatuer ears anyways).
I know you will all hate the music but try listen see if you can give me any tips on the mix/master.

One problem I know for sure is the hi-hat. Its ver 'tss' and prominent in the mix for some reason. Probably boosted some of the high end a little too much?

Nice tunes. Lost in the Rain definetly took me back to the 80s. I enjoy playing 80s metal myself, still have all the CDs too. You are a talented player. Keep up the good work.
I like your guitar sound too, and the mix is great.

Black wolf came together with the help of a well known and knowledgable MTM member for mastering and taught me a huge amount about the process. I need to do the same thing with Dreams now my gear has been upgraded. The dolphin sound came from a Pro-one monosynth through a Boss delay. Cheers for the feedback
