IN THE ISSUE

Features
Preview: Reason 5 & Record 1.5
The latest updates from Propellerhead look tantalising, but what can we expect from Reason 5 and Record 1.5? Hollin Jones got a sneak preview…

Digital Distribution
Uploading your music to online stores should be a key part of any musician’s approach to getting heard and selling records. We lift the lid on digital distribution.

Creative Vocal Manipulation Part Two
Following on from last month’s vocal transformation techniques, Liam O’Mullane takes you through sampling the voice and MIDI control with VariAudio in Cubase.

Ten Minute Masters
Routing
Routing audio around the mixing console is key to any production, whether you’re mixing ‘in the box’ or through outboard equipment. Grant Bridgeman shows the way.

Multiband Compression
Multiband compressors have become a defining part of the sound and intensity of modern music. Mark Cousins gets a taste of the big squash.

This Month’s Workshops
Logic Pro 9
Logic’s range of bouncing features offers both practical and creative benefits to your workflow. Mark Cousins takes control.
Cubase 5
Last month we took some tentative first steps into the world of surround sound. In this instalment, Tim Hallas dives in with some more advanced techniques.
Ableton Live 8
Audio recording, compiling and rendering isn’t as intuitive in Live as it is in most other DAWs. Liam O’Mullane shows you the best approach to creating samples.
Reason 4
Rigid, mechanical-sounding MIDI parts are a thing of the past thanks to Reason’s ReGroove mixer. Hollin Jones gets his groove on.

Reviews
Another selection of hardware and software is put through its paces, including the Nord Piano, Roland Mobile Studio Canvas, Softube Dyna-Mite, Two Notes Audio Engineering Torpedo VB-101, Sontronics Saturn, Native Instruments' Deep Freq and more.

ON THE DVD

Artificial Ensembles
The good people at PinkNoise Studio have carefully crafted ten multi-sampled orchestral ensemble instruments for you to use in your productions. An old Yamaha MU-10, a MicroX and a Nord G2x Modular were mixed together and then processed using high-quality UAD plug-ins for added warmth. You’ll find regular and high-quality versions of each sound, plus patches for Kontakt, EXS24 and NN-XT.

Club Sounds Pack
Spice up your tracks with more than 100 club samples covering IDM/glitch beats, 80s electro, minimal techno FX and extreme sub booms.

LoopTV
LoopTV’s Record tutorials take things to the next level with over 30 minutes of producer tips and tricks presented by product specialist Rob Jones. Plus: an exclusive interview with Mike Pelanconi, founder of the drum sampling label DrumDrops.

Hi MTM,

I have to report a bug. Whenever I write a discussion to post and hit "Start Discussion", next page opens with error it says:

Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site (URL).

Operation Aborted.

When I try to open my threat from the main page it gives the same message and when I sign-out and click on the threat than it opens.
Please fix this problem.

Thanks,
