I would imagine there are several artists on MTM Studionet who've released an album or single
at one time or another. It feels good to be able to say that you've released an album internationally.
I really like tunecore for that reason. They automatically generate your ISRC and UPC Code for you.

Hi Folks,
This track is not part of the Sample Frequency Suite Experiment, Although it is made up from the Sync Plop sample and two of the new samples.
I was messing around with Reason from the last SFS Experiment and had only loaded in two of the new samples.
I started fiddling around with all the settings but luckily I had Sound Forge recording everything as I went along.
So, I suppose that this track is actually a "live performance" that I just happened to record.
Listen to this with headp… Continue

Hello All,
this track was made with the tools:- Battery 3 and Kontakt 2, also using Logic to record the MIDI into.
Once the bounce and final version was done, i imported it into Pro Tools 7.4, to do all the weird audio warps and stuff like that.
I think, from what i can remember, the tempo is at 300.
The drums were made with the water drips and the synths with the bowl hitting the side if the bathroom sink
Hope you like it

Howdy folks - I figured I'd throw down a quick blog note to udpate you on what's going on.
I'm currently back in Seattle (after a 3 week stint back in Adelaide) and hurtling towards the finishing line of the professional development program I've been on since the first week of April. I've learnt a lot about myself, and picked up a new nickname in the process - my "Call-Sign" in the program is "I/O"! Kind of makes sense that I hang about on music technology sites, right? ;)

Hi
Recently i bought a Pro tools M-box. I checked the spec on the pro-tools website and it all matches with my current system. However i have never experienced such teething problems before. I'm having problems with CPU overload, program crashes, in fact anything that can go wrong it has!
I keep a pretty well maintained and spec'd computer here and it actually exceeds the system requirements. All i can now think is that i have wasted, what is to me a lot of money, and time with this thing!

I wrote the title track from a photo I took last fall while I was in Asheville NC. It's a Night Time shot from a Window display. I thought it was cool. This is the first time I wrote a song from a photograph. Heyyy you never know when insparation will strike. I have Seventeen songs on the album most written for Two or more guitars. Some songs have Percussion some have Bass guitar work and one Flute song. Sorry… Continue

Hey just finished my Sample Freq effort, hope you like.
I used Audacity, Reason, and Live 7 to put it all together, I tried to keep effects native, but there is some free VSTs in there too. I made the little plop lines in Audacity, ran the ReDrum through a couple of Maelstroms for some synths, and used the Drum Rack in Live to do some others, plus the bigger pad sound which is very heavily reverbed and delayed and transposed. theres a warble effect on it somewhere too. mostly the effects were t… Continue
Hi fellow audio fiends,

Hello All,
Yes, i know it is quite soon for an entry of a track, because i said it would not be for a few weeks.
Well for one, I made and finished the track in 2 days. So i got a little impatient.
So here it is.
The sample is a single Sync Plop. Thats right, hardly a second of audio plopping. This is the first sample that is going to start off the Sample Freq Suite. It is available for download in 320kbps mp3 format on my profile
Also to let you know what I have done, i have also posted up… Continue

Hello all,
Here they are.
The Rules for the Sample Freq Suite.
Please do follow these rules.
They are basic, but still it is worth looking through, just so then you do know.
1. NEVER use anything other than the sample(s) that is given out. Remember this is a test for oneself in the field of using samples, not for cheating. So any use of any built in Synths and pre-sets are out of the question.
2. You can use any means necessary to play with the sample(s); ie:- using a sampler (Kontakt, MOTU M… Continue
Hello all,
As you can tell the name has changed a little bit.
I thought of the Freq thing when i was in a taxi going home. Plus it will go with the tasks that will arise very soon.
This is just a little post to say how the first test is going with myself, which will then be put on to you very soon.
Well for one I could not stop laughing, why?
Because this first test, is quite a big test. But very very fun.
Plus i was thinking 'how the hell am I, going to this?'
But everything is cool now, an… Continue
Hello all,

This is an idea that will test peoples skills both in music, but also for how much there mind and the such can take.
I am going to start a 'Sample Freaks Suite' blog and competition.
At this moment, and possibly until it stops. There will not be any prizes, so i do not know why I have put competition, so ignore that.
The object is to push your mind and creativity in the field of Music.
In which the title says, it will be based around Sampling.

Hello all,
Just to let everyone know that i have stuck up a new track. But it is a sample of the track i made.
The one reason being is that the full track is 63 minutes long.
It is a Techno/Noise/Ambient/Dance/Weird project that i was working on for a few days.
The synths and sounds are all made by myself from sampling sounds from my flat. Such as metal ball rolling around in a sink, or bathroom light turning on. I used a Sony minidisk recorder, then put the samples in Pro Tools, then bounci… Continue

one thing i worry about (along with the fillings and the tired, sagging breasts) is that my work's too spartan.
listening to other musics on here, i'm struck by the fact i seem to be the only one embracing noise - as an end in itself, at any rate.
i dug out novatron's "new rising sun" again last week. it's one of the barest - and greatest - guitar records i've ever heard. oh yeah, and i've fallen in love with it all over again.

ah, the studio, she was rebuilt in the living room! so once again, i'm all ergonomic and that, as they say in scotland.
it's funny how a differently arranged working space affects what i come up with. being able to lay things out over a wider area seems to be midwifing pieces with more space in them.

i've been listening to the auteurs, if that's the right word, this week. probably "wallowing" would be more accurate!
i only ever saw them the once, in 1993, and through the magic that is p-2-p, i've picked up some cracking live recordings. so much so that it even brought about a teensy wee collision between amazon.co.uk and my visacard.
of course, as everybody knows, this free downloading jamboree is destroying sales of compact discs, so i was probably wrong to have spent good money on "das c… Continue
I joined MTM network recently. I spent a few days loading some old tracks on, quickly building a new one and posting the lyrics to my newest song. I also posted the backing beat but, as was rightly pointed out, it sounded unfinished. Altogether I've written roughly 7 songs. I wouldn't say any of them are going to be number ones, the lyrics are fairly simple and I don't consider myself a great performer yet... hey all,
i recently unearthed some old song i recorded months bask and was shocked at the terribele quality if the sound. i went on a big remastering binge over the course of a night and i made dramatic improvements all round. its amazing how much you can learn in 6 months or so, vigourously rereading music tech issues to enhance your knowledge! i couldn't remix the songs as all i had were the mp3 files, a defect of using demo software only. the songs have just a guitar, voice, some strings and… Continue

Each project has certain rules, and there are only a certain number of places as the total length of a project is limited by the length of a single audio CD - so one project might have 6 members each producing 12-minute tracks, while another might have 12 6-minute tracks. Spaces in part… Continue

when Madame R decided we should move here, one of the selling points was that i'd have a room set aside as my studio - what Virginia Woolf might have termed "a locked ward of one's own".
within a year, it was less a state-of-the-art sonic sculpture facility and more a nature preserve.
i'd noticed that various bits of kit seemed not to be working. my controlling keyboard didn't. the qwerty keyboard that came with the carillon upped and died, necessitating a trip to tesco.

Yesterday I worked on two different pieces. The first one was a mix for RRR, your favourite accordion, drums and vocal trio and then I did some work on a new Opium Cartel track called Picker girl.
The Mix went quite well even though I think there are some small details that need to be sorted out and some level tweaking to be done. It is kind of difficult to mix accordion and drums in a way so that it sounds somewhat hefty or chunky. We’ll see…I posted a roughmix at the RRR myspace page. It shou… Continue
