Since the turn of July of last year and after attending Euro MusExpo I
set out an agenda towards improving the production quality of Soundwrx
music. The importance of production quality is paramount should we, as
composers, wish to have our music stand up and be counted against the
'big guys' already working their pieces in the 'synch' industry.
Consequently I took the decision to take a 'time out' from composing
and create the time to dedicate towards working on production
technique. I also decided to bring in some new software to freshen up
the production process which meant having to learn the detailed
workflow functions of FL Studio and Sound Forge 10. After several
enjoyable months of hard labour (a labour of love really, as we all
know it to be) I knew it was time to work some of the sketches I had
drafted during this intense period of the learning curve. The result is
the latest EATcha Tribe track 'Souq Medina'. I describe the track as
both evocative and edgy with consciously designed dramatic gesture as
thematic structure. The contrasting musical elements form the three
typical stylistic traits of Electro Ambient Theatre, namely; ethnic
flow, orchestral arrangement and electro trance. In 'Souq Medina' the
three distinctive sections combine to form the whole but they can also
be deconstructed into a breakown of miniature stand alone pieces.
'Souq
Medina' represents a benchmark in Soundwrx's development and from a
production standing it has been a long haul to get to where I am right
now and I look forward to continuing the eternal quest of simply
wanting to make it all sound better.
I hope you enjoy the the track.
Peace.
