One thing, or two things, actually, which are very good to have are Audio Fact Sheet and MIDI Fact Sheet which make it clear just what's happening to your data as it passes through Live. Very clear and informative

I've haven't had the time yet to play a great deal, but I rendered the same track using 6 and 7 and there are audible differences, so the changes they've made to the audio engine certainly have an effect. I compared the two files visually using FFTs and there appears to be more detail in general from the Live 7 engine.

The next step, I guess, will be to 'pre-master' a track in Live 7 and do the same in my trusty old WaveLab 4. See what that throws up.

OK> my two penneth worth.....

Drum racks is awesome. Take a loop, use the midi slice tool...move stuff around, pop a random plug in in front, instant beats!

For me, Drum Racks is the best beats making instrument ever. Worth every penny.

The new compressor is great and the sidechain feature is really easy to use. The compressor itself is very transparent and for me, its a real go to compressor for everything.

If you want to add color or character, then this isn't for you.

Spectrum is a big disappointment.....It's really difficult to read, so I will continue to use Voxengo Span which I find far more intuitive.

I didn't get any of the new instruments. I have enough plug in synth's...but electric might be a purchase i will make coz electric piano sounds are something I use a lot....

I had Lounge Lizard but found it a bit thin...so I may try Electric to see what its like as its basically a new version.

Sound quality in LIve is better though its subtle and not glaringly obvious. You will notice a slight glossy sheen that was not there before especially if sounds use a lot of effects.

I upgraded from 6-7 for 99 EUR and for that kind of money the upgrade is worth it.

But the features are quite minimal overall, I was hoping for more to be honest.

Thats the key for me i dont know which upgrade package to get yet belmiro,
thanks for info, drum rack an obvious want!

just checked out the demo in brief, but what i can not check out on this pc is the external audio effects routing plugin, if any one gets the chance , i was wondering if it is possible to say route another daw
via a capable soundcard and say play a synth or add a plugin from another daw as suppose to a hardware device, seems in principle it could be done , if as i say the soundcard allows mulitple channels.
?
so this would be an early clincher for me, as i am about to upgrade too two matching monitors screens, but as i say this would sway priority,

ps
i am loving the multiple automations lanes, you can really get some seriously complicated automation going with out the confusion that can some time ensue such projects in live and remembering all the assignments, and far more simple than rival daws with multiple automation lanes.
But what i would say is it seem a triffle easy to delete these lanes,i will have to take a closer look as suppose to the 30 mins i have just spent having a quick scan of live 7,

I look forward to more reports.
