Bass heavy, woolly and lacking brightness!!!

This could be used to describe me as well as my mixes. I think I have worked out what I am doing wrong. Sitting too close to the monitors which are set too wide and not pointing in enough. Better to sit further back or twist the monitors in? Cheers P

Balladette project posted to my music player

This project has been the most extensive to date. I started with a simple piano version then took the score to my piano teacher who made suggestions for development. Over the next few weeks I have added cello, string, flute and oboe parts and used Sibelius to produce a score at the end of each development period. I have learned how some instruments have certain ranges and they they need to be notated in a particular way. I also incorporated many idea learned from my collaboration with Howard Wil… Continue

Randomly East to West - MTM Collaboration

The track 'Randomly East to West' is a collaborative track between Howard Williams and myself. We met on MTM forums and agreed to a songwriting game each adding one part before sending it by email to our collaboration partner. We agreed it should be limited to 16 tracks although I didn't use that many in the end. We agreed a mix down date for the finished product, then shared our results which turned out to be quite different despite the same MIDI composition file. From a personal perspective I… Continue

Imogen Heap

Thanks to the guy who pointed me at this artist.
Initial listens are keeping me hitting the replay button.
A bit like Tori Amos but with a greater musical range of styles.
Just love 'If only I were a butterfly' especially the huge drums and synth doodles on the lead out of the track.

Good good ... both are total music and production geniuses. Shame they're not so proloific anymore ... its so hard waiting 10 years between ablums ... lol.

Hi,
Ha ha ha, that will be the bow on the G-tar string then, that is making the "ribbet" noise in Lowly Mix. That noise could do with ping ponging around in time.

Sound s interesting I will need to get a bow for my Bass. Might buy a Cello bridge and see if I can fit it onto the Bass to get the curve. Hmmm. See what you have done now.

Thanks,
Throbiod.

Lowly is an experiment to meld a vocal and string sound.
Second listen suggests vocal is a little too loud in places.

EOSPete!...Regatta de Blanc! Their Best!!! Andy Summer's '62 Tele with the (extended) 24 fretboard Neck.....He made some awesome harmonies and "noise" with that Beauty!!! His albums with Robert Fripp were Sheer Brilliant!!!

I purchased the 122L ,on the thought, I would use it for Mobile Recording purposes....it's a bit limited (because of the number of inputs) but it works well with Audiffex's Intone Guitar Pro when I record tracks directly into that specific program.....if I route the signal speakers through the 122L's RCA 1/4" Jacks....

There seems to be a slight bit of latency, if I use Audiffex (for guitar processing) and then into Ableton Live or Pro-Tools....

With that said, I think it might be the dreaded "taxation" on the CPU...not because of the WAV files being recorded, but more due to the processing of the intensive Intone Guitar Pro program before it hits the DAW....but we're only talking milliseconds...

I haven't noticed any problems between listening to the playback while 'comping' overdub tracks...

Still...I like the method of the stand alone DAW's (Roland's BR-600 and BR-1600) for recording, overdubbing and mixing...before recording it into Ableton, Pro-Tools or WAVELAB Essentials....

I know it sounds like I'm doing things "twice"....which is why I'm here with fellow music enthusiasts....to learn how to use this Software properly! LOL!!!

Take Care! Have a Great Weekend!

Black Wolf is a well done, harmonized, musical and produced track!

Reminescent of the mid-80's sound...
