Hi Man,
Get yourself over to Fuzz.com, there is a remix competition for "The Crystal Method" track "Double Down Under".
It is a Pro Tools competition, but, you don't need to be using Pro Tools. You could win a stack of quailty gear.
Even if you are not bothered about the competition or even don't like their material, it is a perfect opportunity to obtain a proper set of trackings to practice mixing and mastering with.
I would suggest obtaining the files and trying out my system on them. You would learn lots and would see how it is meant to work.
I know it works, I have just done a mix of their track myself, I always use my system anyway.
You will struggle to get your own files recorded at this quality, which means you will always be trying to mix and master from not the best trackings.
Give it a blast, test out my system.
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks,
Throbber.

Hi there, thanks for your invite. I have listened to both of your tracks. Very nice performance! Btw, I also have a lot of questions about mastering like you. Apparently there isn't just one recipe. I've been told it can be learned by years of ear training, matching ur own song with the best 'reference' songs available. Although, for me it is probably the best thing to start figuring out what kind of tools and equipment are out there to use... for example the tool "Ozone" you talked about in the forum.

W.I.P. has some nice finger-work. Cool. Maybe a bit dark for my own taste.
